Sure, January may not be packed with parties and charity galas, but that doesn’t mean we need to Netflix and Die Alone. We spent most of last week watching movies nominated for The Golden Globes, so this week, we’re turning to some old-school flicks. Or more specifically, a trio of iconic movies that make us so happy to be gay. Alamo Drafthouse always throws a great movie party and this week, we can quote Cher in Clueless at the Cedars location, or head to Richardson for a Spice World film fiesta or a wonderful Wednesday with The Wiz. Tickets to each are just…

We’re totally against conversion therapy. Unless it’s in reverse. Because we all have that straight guy friend that we’re utterly convinced we could utterly convince to do some gay stuff. You know the one. In the new YouTube series, STRAY, two friends (one gay, one not) reunite after a case of mistaken Grindr identity involving blindfolds, poppers and candlelight dinners at Sizzler. Once they reconnect properly, questions of each other’s sexuality come up and hilarity ensues. Each episode is only a few minutes long (sometimes just two), but that’s exactly what we need to fill in the gaps between our Golden Girls Hulu…

We never planned to have back-to-back Dan Savage coverage this week, but we just got word today about one of our favorite-ever pornographic film festivals returning to Dallas. Yep, PORNOGRAPHIC!!!!! Now before you think we’re completely perverted for getting all-bold-caps-five-exclamation-points-excited about naked people on the big screen, we can totally justify it. Back in 2014, Dan Savage sent his HUMP! Film Festival to Dallas and it was one of the most amazing evenings we ever spent at a movie theater. We laughed. We cried. We strategically placed the popcorn bucket on our lap so nobody would see what was happening in our underwear.…

Cabernet. Cabaret. Repeat. Cabernet. Cabaret. Repeat. Cabernet. Cabaret. Repeat. That’s our motto starting tonight when one of our all-time favorite performers and Uptown Players scene-stealer, Denise Lee (pictured above), kicks off the third season of the live music series, “Life Is a Cabaret” at the Women’s Museum Building at Fair Park. Tonight’s Valentine’s Day-themed show, Where’s My Candy?, puts the talented performer in the middle of some all-time great love songs and other February 14-appropriate content. Next week (and every third Tuesday), the cabaret series moves to Two Corks and a Bottle. The February 21 theme is very current and appropriate…

What’s buzzing this week? Let Steve Kemble, US Weekly Fashion Police Top Cop, entertainment reporter for the CBS Radio Show – Afternoons with Leigh Ann & Courtney Kerr on KVIL 103.7 www.kvil.com and America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru, fill you in on the news everyone’s going to be talking about: It’s official, former People magazine “Sexiest Man Alive” Johnny Depp and actress Amber Heard are divorcing. The shocking news comes just a few days after his mother’s death. The couple was married in February of last year, my sources tell me she is seeking spousal support and there was no prenup. You will remember the…

There’s a party in your shoes. Or at least there should be. Socks are big business these days and companies keep popping up with their own take on high-fashion foot coverings. But few brands are as fun as Happy Socks, a Swedish company launched in 2008, far ahead of the current trend of playful socks for men.The name Happy Socks couldn’t be more accurate, either, because these guys turn out all sorts of crazy designs with everything martinis to mushrooms to giant polka dots in out-of-the-boardroom color combos. They even have a Pride collection that contains rainbow socks and boxers…
