HE SAID READER: I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years last winter. He moved back to Colorado Springs - I stayed in the house. We still talk frequently and see each other occasionally. My friends tell me I need to move on but I can't see to. I don't feel like I'm ready to date. Even though I don't think I'll get back with my ex I feel stuck.
BENDER: So, what surprises are there here? A 4 year relationship doesn't just end with one of you moving out. I don't know how long you've been apart, but you both obviously have some connection, which would be natural after being with someone for that long. Surround yourself with friends/ not necessarily in a "dating" scene. Tell the friends to stop talking about what you "should" do and let them know that you simply want their company/ not their advice. Then, go play and as they say "live in the moment."
