Finally. A Super Sweet 16 we actually want to go to.
From June 14 to 16, Uptown Players presents the sixteenth edition of its annual fundraiser, Broadway Our Way. Written and directed once again by the too-talented-for-his-own-tap-shoes B.J. Cleveland, it’s one of the highlights of the troupe’s season of ovation-worthy performances.
Featuring a Who’s Who of Uptown Players stars, the show is a nonstop extravaganza of music and comedy, with the occasional ballad. (Also our cue to escape to the bar and bathroom just like we do at Madonna concerts.)
This year’s cast includes Mikey Abrams, Chapman Blake, B.J. Cleveland, Coy Covington, Peter DiCesare, Aaron Green, Jonathan Hardin, Lindsay Hayward, Lexee Leach, Walter Lee (pictured), Linda Leonard, Beth Lipton, David Lugo, Janelle Lutz, Kelly McCain, Grace Neeley, Mindy Neuendorff, Kimberly Oliver, Sarah Powell, Thomas Renner, Amy Stevenson, Carlos Strudwick, Jacie Hood Wenzel, Aaron White, Brandon Wilhelm, Jodi Wright and Trevor Wright.
So whether you’re looking for classic Broadway tunes to numbers from current hits, there’s a little something for everyone. (Including a little something for everyone at the reception afterward, too.)
Plus, all proceeds from these shows ensure that we continue to get the top-notch productions that have taken Uptown Players from “community theater” to “Broadway-worthy.”
