Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Science, Scripture & Storminess

Let us get on our knees for these concerns.

Science. Famed scientist, genius and wheelchair-bound atheist, Stephen Hawking, came to the end of his life this past week. I would like to honor the scientific wisdom which was bestowed upon this man which allowed him to offer his “theories” on the universe. However, as a Christian, I just couldn’t merge his theories with my belief in the story of creation in Genesis. As Brother Hawking once said, “I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.” Therefore, let us mourn the demise of this human computer. As to his belief in the afterlife, I’ll still sleep with a night light on, thankyouverymuch. Glory!

Scripture. As you should know by now, I am a devout BABATIST which means that my entrance into Heaven is a certainty, whereas the rest of you people of faith are on a waiting list. In the midst of my pride in being a BABATIST, there are occasional foxes in the church henhouse. One being Reverend Robert Jeffress of First Babatist Church in Dallas and his undying support of Brother Trump’s sexual dalliances. While I won’t quibble with his statement that “evangelicals know that they’re not compromising their beliefs in order to support this great president,” my concern with this minister is his quote that “Evangelicals still believe in the commandment: Thou shalt not have sex with a porn star.” Sigh. Brothers and Sisters, that is NOT one of the Ten Commandments. Rev. Jeffress needs to learn his Bible and stop using his own interpretations of scripture to make headlines. Amen?

Storminess. I keep hearing about all the Nor’easters (what happened to the “th”?) making landfall on the eastern seaboard. One storm after another. Yet I’ve only heard one actually given a name. That would be the very stormy Daniel which has been raging through our nation’s capital. While it appears that the cost of this storm has only been around $130,000, the aftermath is causing great concern. Brother Trump certainly has wielded power during his presidency, but I just don’t see how he thinks he can silence a storm! Regardless, there must have been a lot of wind damage, as the media is agog over the stormy blow job Daniel performed. Let us pray.
