Apparently, there’s something big happening in the NFL this weekend. Something super, some might say.
Well, football, schmootball. We’ll be brunching all day, perhaps with a movie in between courses and possibly a nap or two.
But if you’re looking for a football-themed brunch, you should check out Tupelo Honey. Sure, it has absolutely nothing to do with football, but it’s up in Frisco at The Star, the huge complex built up around the Dallas Cowboys training facility, so that’s where we connect those dots.
That or the fact that tossing a biscuit to our friend across the table is the closest thing to our involvement in an organized sport.
If you’re looking for a great brunch spot (and potential road trip if you live in Dallas like us), then you should totally check out the first location of this small southern-food restaurant chain.
Honey-dusted fried chicken. Sweet potato pancakes (pictured). Gigantic biscuits. Huevos rancheros. Shrimp and grits. Avocado toast and eggs.
These are just a few of the weekend brunch offerings, along with many more, plus carafes of Bloody Marys and mimosas.
Even cooler, you can get all the above-listed brunch items during lunch hours throughout the week, so you don’t have to wait until the usual Sunday. And the best part about weekday brunch? Tupelo Honey’s 75¢ martini special.
Because the only thing better than a three-martini lunch is a three-martini brunch.
