Open wide! We’ve got a lot of tacos to get in your mouth this weekend.
We brunch at least twice a week (more if we’re on vacation or playing hooky from work), but sometimes we like to set aside the smoked salmon, hide the hollandaise and omit the omelets from our repertoire.
That’s when tacos come in. They’re perfect for brunching because you can order several and have a nice variety of flavors on the plate without breaking the bank.
Tucked away in Preston Hollow Village, Cinco Taco Bar wraps tortillas around lots of delectable ingredients throughout the day, but the breakfast tacos find their way into our belly more often than all the others. And on weekends, they serve them until 2:00 p.m., so it becomes brunch by default.Choices include barbacoa or picadillo beef, as well as scrambled egg options with your choice of bacon, potato, chorizo or sausage (pictured above).
Or opt for the “Ultimate Breakfast Taco” (pictured above) with thin-sliced griddled rib eye steak, toasted cheese, refried pintos, fresh molcajete salsa and a sunny-side egg.
There’s a full bar, plus beer and wine, so you can keep the party going as long as you want.
Or until 11:00 a.m. if it’s a weekday.
