Let us all pray to receive a new word this week.
Complicit. Let me start by discussing 2017’s most often researched word, according to Dictionary.com. The word is “complicit” and it was used so much in media and television this year, the ignorant went running to look it up. Of course, if we didn’t have the current president in office, this year’s most popular word might have been “forthright”, but I digress. For those of you still word-challenged, complicit means to be “involved with others in an illegal activity or wrongdoing”. Basically, anyone in Washington. One might also use adept, calculating, canny, conniving, craft, cunning, deceitful, discreet, duplicitous, guileful, politic, scheming, slippery, strategic, and wily. Regardless, why use big words when small ones will do the job? I just call it sin. Let us pray.
Complicit. In royal news, Britain’s Prince Harry is engaged to be married. There is just so much at stake here. First of all, Harry looks like NO ONE in the royal family, least of all his alleged father, Prince Charles, but let’s just sweep that under the rug. Secondly, Harry strongly favors his mother’s red-headed “friend”, James Hewitt, so we sweep under the rug. Finally, Harry is marrying a divorced American actress of mixed race. Let that sink in, Brothers and Sisters. Somewhere, Wallis Simpson is snickering. But let’s just sweep all THAT under the rug as well. Brother Harry’s monarch grandparents are said to be delighted about the engagement. Clearly, Sister Liz and Brother Phil are done caring, yet appear complicit in this union. Rumor is that the wedding will be small and on a bare floored chapel since there’s too much under the rugs to maneuver the aisle. God Save the Ginger!
Complicit. In an effort to join the complicity in media matters, I am delighted to announce that I am going to be featured on the cover of TIME Magazine as (Christian) Person of the Year. Take THAT, Betty Bowers!
