We’re not even remotely ready for the holiday season, but at least the cold snap this week got us a little bit closer to getting in the spirit.
Fortunately, there’s one event that always pushes us over the line from grinchy to giddy: The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, DIFFA/Dallas Holiday Wreath Collection party.
The theme for this 22nd annual celebration is Vintage White Christmas, which we promise has nothing to do with a bunch of Caucasian senior citizens standing around a tree. (We’ll leave that to the Trump administration.)
As always, a group of top designers have lent their talents to create 60 one-of-a-kind wreaths, art pieces, pet goodies and home accessories up for auction. This year’s artistic creations come from Dan & Joseph, Robyn Menter Design, Allan Knight & Associates, James Martin Furniture, Todd Oldham and Dallas Design Supply and several other skilled folks.
It’s also the first chance to book tables for House of DIFFA: Alter Ego taking place on May 12, 2018.
In between bidding on items, snack on hors d’oeuvres from III Forks Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant.
Sip on cocktails featuring Impeccable Rosé Brut by Steffi Burns, Crafthouse Cocktails and beverages from the massive portfolios of Republic National Distributing Company and Ben E. Keith.
And shake your booty to tunes from The Hip Van Winkles.
Tickets are $50 with proceeds directly benefiting DIFFA/Dallas and its beneficiaries. So put on your favorite holiday cocktail attire (this is one of the rare times when that crushed velvet sports coat is actually acceptable) and join us for a gay old time.
Or gender nonconforming old time, if that’s more your thing.
