Raiders Of The Lost Orch

Music can make or break a movie. Just imagine all those great Steven Spielberg flicks from the 1970s and 80s without the John Williams scores.

Would JAWS even be scary without the soundtrack? OK, yes, but you get the point.

This weekend, experience one of the great Spielberg films in a way that truly celebrates the music as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents Raiders of the Lost Ark as a movie in concert.

Conductor Constantine Kitsopulous leads a full orchestra onstage at the Meyerson Symphony Center as the movie plays on the big screen above. Feel the swell of every overture, march and instrumental accompaniment surround you in a way that even Dolby could never surpass.

Once you’ve seen a movie with a full orchestra, you may never want to see one any other way. Unless it’s possible to squeeze the DSO into your living room so you can have your comfy sofa as part of the equation, too.

Or alone on a love seat with Harrison Ford circa 1981.
