Put Some Gay In Your Day!

Someone Else’s Death Becomes Her

Until today, our favorite landlords have always been Helen and Stanely Roper. Ralph Furley a close second. Followed immediately by Amanda Woodward.

Well, that Top 3 could be upended tonight as we depart the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Because that’s where Uptown Players is staging the regional premiere of Charles Busch’s The Tribute Artist, a comedy starring Coy Covington as an out-of-work female impersonator who takes on the role of a lifetime pretending to be the recently deceased landlady.

Why? In order to stay in her very valuable NYC townhome, of course.

Cara Statham Serber, Angie McKnight, Luke Longacre, Mary Campbell and Zander Pryor round out the cast, playing a variety of eccentric, wacky neighbors.

Damn, Lenny and Squiggy are now in jeopardy, too.

Uptown Players presents The Tribute Artist
Tonight through September 10

Tickets: $10 to $40
