Put Some Gay In Your Day!

Hi Hi Birdie

Some Broadway shows are just meant for Uptown Players.

La Cage Aux Folles is one.

Join fellow birds of a feather in the show that won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical with a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, all based on the original play by Jean Poiret.

If you’ve never seen this story unfold onstage or in one of the movie versions, here’s the gist:

The lives of gay couple Georges and Albin turn upside-down when Georges’ son decides to bring his fiancée’s right-wing family for a visit—to their home in St. Tropez. Which is attached to their drag nightclub. Agreeing to play it straight for the sake of not rocking the boat, Georges puts on the show of his life. Except Albin has his own ideas of how things should play out.

It’s one of the funniest shows in history and Uptown Players will most definitely kick things up a notch further.

Because they know how to gather a group of men in wigs and dresses like nobody else.
