How many days would you need to plan a fabulous dinner party?
Two? Five? Fourteen?
Well, we’re giving you 36. Because the 12th Anniversary of the No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party isn’t until Saturday, April 8.
If you’re unfamiliar with this fundraising tradition, here’s the CliffsNotes version:
Host a dinner party at your home with a few friends or several dozen. It can be a casual potluck or a schmancy seven-course seated soirée. Each person pays $75, which gets him or her access an open bar all night and a lavish array of desserts. Pay $150 per person for access to a special VIP area. Once you schedule your dinner, a link will appear on the website for your friends to purchase tickets.
Your dinner party can be held the night of No Tie or any date beforehand. Then bring your entire group to the big event on April 8 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
Presented by Purple Foundation, the annual extravaganza raises funds for AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD), a nonprofit that provides housing and supportive services to low-income and formerly homeless men, women, children and families living with HIV/AIDS.
So go ahead and start planning your dinner party now. Then grab an extra cupcake that Saturday night because your desire to indulge in frosting-covered treats could represent life-changing help for someone in need.
Besides, with the karmic possibilities from a philanthropic night like this, calories don’t count one bit.
