We don’t ever need an excuse to take a vacation. But we know some people who have to have a reason for everything.
That’s OK, though. We have a reason for everyone reading this to hit Key West this June. It’s the grand finale of the Stoli Key West Cocktail Classic, a competition that finds bartenders competing for the top prize in 15 different cities, representing LGBT bars in Florida this June. There, they’ll be judged by celebrities including Bruce Villanch, Andrew Christian and Key West’s resident drag superstar, Sushi. The event is co-hosted by Jai Rodriguez of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy fame. The bartenders are each competing for $10,000 to benefit the charity of his or her choice, so they’re going to take the challenge seriously.
And that means lots of delicious cocktails for you.
The five-day event includes high-energy parties aplenty, semi-finalist elimination events and a booze cruise, too. It all culminates as the finalists face off in front of Bourbon Street Pub where a winner will be crowned before joining the Key West Pride parade the next day as Honorary Grand Marshal.
Oh, look! Key West Pride happens over the same weekend.
Don’t you just love when there are two reasons to take a vacation?
