The Zodiac Files

Charles Manson. 1967 Los Angeles. And a still-delicious David Duchovny undercover at a gay nightclub.

Sign us up!

These are just a few of the things you’ll see on Aquarius, a new series debuting tonight. An ambitious new show for NBC, the crime procedural follows detectives Brian Shafe (Grey Damon) and Sam Hodiak (Duchovny, pictured above) as they try to solve shocking murders.

The trail leads them to a group of free-love hippies led by none other than Mr. Manson.

It’s being described as historical fiction, but the true history-making is what happens online tomorrow after tonight’s premiere. Viewers can choose to wait until Thursdays to view the show the traditional 1960s way (as it’s broadcast live), or binge-watch the entire rest of the season on nbc.com.

Because of our weakness for the Man Who Would Be Mulder, we’ll probably drink a few espressos and enjoy a multi-hour date with Duchovny this weekend.

Totally killer, man.

Premieres tonight
