Judging Talent

We really do miss the days when we’d skip classes in college to grab Taco Bell to-go so we could get back to our dorm room to watch All My Children and One Life to Live.

But we’re grateful for the memories.

We don’t have the opportunity to watch much daytime TV any more, with the exception of our daily Judge Judy ritual at the gym and the occasional Ellen clips we catch online.

Yet there’s an entire world out there of morning and afternoon TV that’s going to be celebrated Sunday night at the live television broadcast of the Daytime Emmy Awards, airing on Pop (formerly TV Guide Network).

Normally we’d look past such award-night fluff, but when we viewed the lineup, we knew we could come up with a few drinking games to keep thing interesting.

First off, the always unpredictable Tyra Banks is hosting. (Take a shot every time she references modeling.)

Betty White is receiving a lifetime achievement award. (Slam beers from the time her name is announced until she reaches the microphone.)

And the list of nominees is full of favorites, including Ina Garten, Martha Stewart, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Wendy Williams, Kelly Ripa and Judge Judith Sheindlin (above). Ellen DeGeneres is up for several awards, too. (Blend a margarita every time one of their names is announced.)

If that doesn’t get you drunk, chug box wine during each commercial break.

We sure have come a long way since college.
