Ellen, dear, we’re worried about you.
Between your daily talk show, your line of products at QVC, your acting work on the upcoming Finding Dory, and the hidden camera show you’re producing, we think it’s time you treat yourself to a leisurely vacation with Portia.
But then again, the more you can spread your funny to the world, the better we are.
Tonight, another one of Ellen DeGeneres’ ventures debuts on NBC. One Big Happy takes its cue from a real-life situation that happened to one of the show’s other executive producers and writer, Liz Feldman, a former staffer on Ellen’s chatfest.
The pulled-from-reality plot now finds lesbian Lizzy (Elisha Cuthbert from Happy Endings) (RIP!) in a quandary after her male best friend Luke (Nick Zano) falls in love with Prudence (Kelly Brook).
Wouldn’t be a big deal except Lizzy is pregnant and planned to raise the child with Luke. Now the trio must find a way to make their unusual situation work. Hilarity, of course, ensues. Or at least we think it will.
The pilot has some funny moments, but we’re looking forward more to seeing where the show goes from here.
After all, with Ellen’s hand in the creative pie, we expect only great things.
And lots of women in pants.
