Let’s face it, you sometimes hate your job. We know the feeling.
There are days when we don’t get a single pair of free designer underwear, bottle of top-shelf liquor or five-course four-star meal. It’s like working in a coal mine!
But in this economy with unemployment so high, it’s not a time to be picky.
At least until Wednesday.
That’s when the LGBT Job Expo rolls into town, hosted by Resource Center Dallas and Out & Equal, to bring together job seekers with employers that want to hire members of our community.
Whether you’re looking for a better job or trying to end an extended jobless streak, it’s a great place to come out and meet the people who understand the value of a diverse work environment.
It’s also a terrific opportunity to network with fellow jobseekers. Who knows, you might just find a date. Or a new business partner to help you launch that new line of doggie fitness DVDs you’ve been dreaming about.
Several major corporations and organizations have already signed up, including Bank of America, Texas Instruments, TJX, Raytheon, Parkland Health & Hospital System, Bureau of Prisons, Workforce Solution and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Don’t know about you, but that prison one sounds pretty hot to us.
