That’s A Big 10-4, Gay Buddy

0

It’s Thursday, October 4, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to start planning your weekend, little Lohans! We’ve got art, theatre, music, film, exercise and greener living all at your mani’ed fingertips.

Weekend Calendar

MY OWN PRIVATE DIVA, by Terry Dobson
Opens Friday, October 5th
We all have a diva in our lives, and we’re each one to someone else. Head out to Theatre Three’s intimate Theatre Too venue and catch the winner of “Best New Play” from both Column Awards and Dallas-Fort Worth Critics’ Forum Awards performed by the author and his very own diva, Sally Soldo. Check your attitude at the door. The theatre’s not big enough for two of you.

Theatre Too at The Quadrangle
Tickets $20-$30

OUT TAKES Dallas Schedule Release Party
Thursday, October 4 (tonight), 7 p.m.
The gay movies are coming! The gay movies are coming! Find out which films made the cut for this year’s OUT TAKES Annual Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and be in the know before anyone on your block…unless you live on that really gay block.

Ricky Martin
Saturday, October 6, 8 p.m.
She Bangs! She Bangs! She’s Sexually Ambiguous! And by “she,” of course, we mean the bon-bon shaking Ricky Martin and his body of carnal delight. Someone tells us he sings, too, but we’ve never paid that much attention.

Nokia Live in Grand Prairie
Tickets $30 to $80

Ron Mueck Exhibit
Through October 21, 2007
Come to the Modern in Fort Worth for the fiberglass weenies, noo-noos and boobies, stay for the sheer brilliance of this sculptor’s creations of the most life-like over-sized and miniature people you’ve ever seen outside the State Fair. Thirteen works are on display ranging from giant naked men and enormous newborn babies to teeny-tiny old ladies (and not in the real, teeny-tiny old lady way).

The Modern in Fort Worth
This Sunday: FREE, Regular Admission $10

LifeWalk Pre-Registration
Saturday, October 6, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Grab your friends (then bring them with you) to Crossroads Café this Saturday and pre-register for this year’s Life Walk. By registering early, you can pick up your shirts early and avoid the rush the day of the walk. You’ll look like a V.I.P. to all the poor schleps standing in line, and because you had time to wash your shirt first, you’ll be April fresh.

Green Parade of Homes
Final weekend, Thursday October 4 through Sunday, October 7
It’s not easy being green, but when your house is built from the ground up to be resource-efficient, it just might be a little simpler to reduce, reuse and recycle. (And we’re not talking about your dates). So hop into your 9-mile-per-gallon SUV and head far north to Cross Roads, Texas (past Denton), and help save the environment.

Forest Hills in Cross Roads, Texas
Tickets $12.00
